Our History

The King’s Lynn Town Guides were set up in 1977 by keen individuals who took it upon themselves to learn about the detailed history of the town so they could provide tours to both the local population and visitors alike. Since then, the organisation has grown into a formally trained and badged group with very similar aims to those who early pioneers. At the same time, the historic quarter and riverside have undergone many changes that reflect the increased interest in the King’s Lynn’s architectural and cultural heritage.

Our Guides

All the guides are volunteers who have given up a year of their time to train to be awarded their badge. They come from a diverse range of backgrounds, but are united by a common fondness for King’s Lynn and an enthusiasm that they wish to share with others to raise the profile of the town amongst the wider population
